What is Acupuncture?
Among the many modalities of Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is probably the most well
known for correcting energy imbalances and has received a lot of favorable press around the world in recent years.
Acupuncture is a time tested effective technique used to treat functional and chronic disorders, reduce pain and stress,
prevent illness, and promote optimal emotional and physical wellbeing.
Acupuncture treatment is done using super fine sterile stainless steel needles gently inserted into acupuncture points along
the body to stimulate and restore balance to the body’s energy system. This stimulus promotes healing by removing obstacles
from healthy energy flow and by moving excess energy to areas of the body where more is needed.
Points are chosen based on the Chinese medicine pattern diagnosis the patient presents at the time of each visit.
As a specific condition or if overall health changes the treatment is adjusted to maximize effectiveness. To further enhance
treatment, acupuncture points can be warmed with one of several techniques, or gently stimulated with a mild electric current.
